The lyrics express the desire to find love, with the singer saying they “came here for love” and want someone to “hold me down” and “reach out” to them. The song features a prominent trumpet line, which is a signature element of Sigala’s production style.

“Came Here for Love” was a commercial success, peaking at #6 on the UK Singles Chart and being certified Platinum by the BPI. It was also nominated for Best British Single at the Global Music Awards in 2018. 

The music video for the song was filmed in Cuba and directed by Craig Moore. Ella Eyre and Sigala also performed the track live together at the Capital’s Summertime Ball in 2017.
